Today, inspired by P, I have started my own online journal. If it becomes interesting enough, I would like to share it with others. Hopefully it will win the admiration and support of P.
I am interested in evolution, genetics, biogeography, ecology, and any combination thereof. I also sometimes consider myself an artist, and appreciate minimal, conceptual, figurative, and abstract art. I would like somehow to reconcile these interests in the words and images presented here.
... which is the genus of the butterfly species I am quite interested in right now. Mitoura (Callophrys) gryneus, the juniper hairstreak. The name refers to the threadlike projections of the hind wings and is the combination of two Latin words, mitos (thread) and oura (tail). I have been trying to consistently write here for about three years now. I like to express myself and at one time was very candid and open about what I wrote, how I wrote it, and seemed to not care who read it. I might try to coax that candor back into existence, but we'll see.
